I wanted to try my luck at posting for the first time. Looking at the featured webinar tonight, I am seeing these mediums working to achieve a creative image with a portrait.
Coincidentally, I have been producing many images for decorators using photos of leaves, grapes, table top photos of coffee, etc. For the San Diego Sailing painting, I used a downloaded image of San Diego, created my building lights and grids in Photoshop, drew in my sailboat, and painted the rest freehand and sold it. (But, I can print another :-)) I have made a sales sheet, and have called on dentists and doctors in my area–I can tell you that they are interested resulting in many sales in the area of $150 to $400 each. The hardest work is making the frame and stretching the printed canvas. Simple, I make a visit, snap a picture of their interior color scheme with my cell phone, go back to the computer and design my modern color background, and the pre-painted images are already in place on layers to press print.
As I gear up for the Art Festivals this Fall, it is very important that I produce work that can be reproduced over and over again economically and quickly. With price points under $500, my camera is my best tool for ideas and creating unusual images. I am already starting to add painted components to my portrait images...looking forward to tonight's webinar and how they do it.
